The bank today rejected German standardization in the fee for deposit abroad once they begin to move the single European currency, the euro, as a formal means of payment in 12 countries in Europe.
The president of the Association of German Banks, Manfred Weber, said that the quotas proposed by the Commission of the European Union (EU) force banks to offer services at prices below the original cost.
The proposal is that in future all the lending institutions of member countries of the bloc transactions across borders for the same price as domestic payments transactions.
Just four months and a half to begin circulating the euro as an official fee, Weber said that the proposal is not acceptable because it would affect the German banks, whose deposit services costs are lower than in other countries.
